HDR Update

Snow is visible on distant peaks, and days will start to get longer. We have discovered a glitch in our system that meant that some recent HDR Updates were not delivered to you when they were intended. I am sorry for this, and for the confusion created by receiving a few months of updates in one day. We now have it under control.

The Statistical Consulting Unit (SCU) will be transitioning over the next 6 months to the Statistical Support Network (SSN). The way that we provide statistical services for HDR candidates is going to change, but we will still be providing support for those who need statistical advice. Associate Professor Alice Richardson will be leading this change, with the SCU closing on 31 December 2021 and the SSN commencing full operations on 1 January 2022. Over the next 6 months, we will be developing a new suite of services to support you. In the meantime, if you need statistical advice for your research visit the SCU.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be unpredictable, a reminder to keep informed with advice as it changes, and take care of yourself.

To assist research staff and students in continuing their work, we are running Zoom research ethics drop-in sessions for anyone who has questions or requires advice about human and animal ethics and rDNA monitoring. Attendees will enter a virtual “waiting room” on Zoom and will be assisted on a first come first served basis by someone from the research ethics team. Register here.
Opportunities for climate change, energy, and disaster risk HDR projects.
If your research touches on climate change and/or energy change and/or disaster risk, you’re invited to join the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions. Membership is completely free, and the benefits include profiling of your research activities and the chance to engage in wider research collaborations within the University.
