HDR Update

We are now well into spring, the frosts have gone, so it is safe to start planting your tomatoes. With the forecast of a hot and dry summer ahead, we can expect a bumper crop this year! If you are new to this very Canberra pastime, have a look at these tips on how to grow tomatoes at home.

Congratulations to Tegan Clark from the Fenner School who has won the 2023 International Visualise Your Thesis Competition. In only the first year of her PhD, Tegan wowed the judges with her entry “It's Dusty Down Under” and beat entrants from all around Australia and the world to win the $5,000 first prize. Tegan's research looks at dust storms across Australia and how satellites like Himawari-8 could be used to create an early warning system for dust storms.

Only one more month to go until we come together to celebrate HDR research during our very own Research Fest on 1 December. This will be a day to think and play in a creative environment, try new ideas and connect with your fellow HDR travellers. We have confirmed some very exciting activities and hope that you will join us and be part of a day filled with inspiration, collaboration, and celebration.
