HDR Update

The slow transition to Autumn in Canberra means we have reached the time of year when beginning the day with several layers to combat the crisp morning results in heatstroke by the afternoon. Remember you will need to turn your clocks back one hour later this month. Eastern Daylight savings ends on Sunday 7 April.

On Saturday 16 March I had the pleasure of attending the ANU Open Day and witnessing first-hand the wave of excitement from perspective new students. It's always nice to see the campus full of inquisitive minds ready to take the next step in their education.

Welcome to all our commencing candidates. You are invited to attend the April HDR Induction Week. This is a week to help get you settled into your research program. It is full of face-to-face events and workshops that are designed to get your ANU journey off to a great start. Get in quick and register here to be part of the fun.

This month we also welcome the new Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Professor Lachlan Blackhall. Professor Blackhall was previously Entrepreneurial Fellow and Head, Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program at ANU. Lachlan has been busy working on an updated Research Strategy for the university that will continue to see more support for developing future researchers.
