Accessibility

Free disability parking is available for those with a valid Australian mobility permit. Disability parking spaces on campus are clearly sign posted. The Accessibility parking map shows locations of disability parking spaces.

From January 2025 staff and students will no longer be required to source and display ANU disability parking permits. ANU will now only require the display of an Australian Disability Parking Permit. Not only will this lessen the administrative burden for you, it will ensure you have access to parking when you need it.

Conditions of permit parking

Further information regarding parking on campus, can be found on the ANU Transport & Parking website.

Please note, if you hold an Australian Disability parking permit, and a parking sign indicates a time limit of:

  • 30 minutes or less: you may park there for up to 2 hours.
  • More than 30 minutes: you may park there for as long as you need to.

What do I need to do?

If you already hold an Australian Disability Parking permit, all you need to do is display it when you park on campus. You will be able to park on campus in accordance with the Australian Disability Parking Permit conditions.

If you do not hold an Australian Disability Parking permit, you can apply for one through Access Canberra.

Can I park at ANU parking stations with my disability parking permit for free?

No. If you'd like to park at one of the ANU parking stations (Baldessin, Kingsley, or Acton Underhill),  a parking station permit will be required. Parking station fees can be found on the fees page. Your Australian Disability Parking Permit only applies to surface areas only.
