Fellowship for Greek academics in Australia
Are you a Greek- or Cypriot-Australian (that is, were born in Greece or Cyprus) and are looking for opportunities to network and expand your academic career abroad?
The Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP) is a scholar exchange program for Greek universities to host Greek scholars from the diaspora in the areas of collaborative research, curriculum co-development and/or graduate/undergraduate student mentoring and teaching. The GDFP is funded by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to the Institute of International Education (IIE).
The GDFP supports 14 to 90 day visits by the Diaspora fellow to a Greek institution that is a partner under this program. Fellows receive a US$150 per day stipend, roundtrip airfare, a project materials allowance, supplemental health insurance and visa costs (if applicable.)
To be eligible, an individual must (1) have been born in Greece or Cyprus, or hold Greek or Cypriot citizenship; (2) live in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa or the United States; (3) hold a terminal (highest level) degree in their field; and (4) be employed at an accredited college or university.
If you meet this criteria, you’re being warmly encouraged to apply for this opportunity, with applications being accepted until July 31, 2019 for projects to take place in 2020. More information, as well as a link to the application, can be found on the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program’s website at http://www.iie.org/greekdiaspora. You can also contact the Program via their Facebook and Twitter pages.
