Travel with dependants

The University recognises that dependents may need to accompany individuals whilst on official business travel. 

Where an accompanying traveller is a minor and travels with a staff member leading student group travel, an additional adult guardian must be present to care for the minor for the duration of the group travel program. 

All expenses associated with dependents including, but not limited to, flights, insurance, cancellations, testing, quarantine or personal effects are the responsibility of the individual.  

Travellers should consider applying to the University Carers’ Career Development Assistance Fund for financial support. This fund has been established for staff with caring responsibilities who require support to participate in activities that contribute to their careers, including significant national or international conferences, symposia, workshops and professional development.
