Amy Capuano

Head of Public Affairs

Amy is the Head of Public Affairs. She has spent her career translating complex ideas into simple, compelling language. Before joining ANU, Amy was an experienced government speechwriter, drafting speeches and op-eds for three Prime Ministers, the Foreign Minister, and Education Minister. She most recently spent five years working at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet – the heart of federal policymaking and planning in Australia. Amy also spent 15 years as a journalist, including at CNN in Hong Kong, the BBC World Service in London, and the Insight Program on SBS. Her own writing has been published in the Lowy Interpreter and E-International Relations. Amy has a Bachelor degree in Journalism from RMIT and is studying Master of International Relations at ANU.
