Jamie Kidston

Multimedia and Production Manager

Jamie is responsible for the team that develops informative and engaging multimedia content that promotes the activities and successes of the University.

This work encompasses the full spectrum of multimedia production, from live streaming, editorial photography, infographics, podcasting and narrative video production. These approaches are used across ANU publications, such as ANU Reporter, the Annual report, university snapshots, on social media, websites, ANU TV, ANUx on EdX, and in integrated communication campaigns. The multimedia team also operates the highly flexible, full production, broadcast ANU Media Studio.

On a day to day basis, Jamie works closely with academics to make their research accessible to audiences around the country and internationally. This is done by collaborations with the media and via ANU channels. Jamie also ensures the smooth delivery of image rich communication from the University Executive and other areas of the university.

Since the mid 1990s Jamie has produced content for long format documentaries, national news media, governments, transnational/multilateral institutions and the higher education sectors. Immediately prior to working at ANU, Jamie was a consultant to the International Security Assistance Force (the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s mission to Afghanistan). In 2008 he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by the Secretary General of NATO.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Economic Development from LaTrobe University and a Graduate Diploma in Communications (awarded with Distinction) from Queensland University of Technology.
