Financial Shared Services – partnering simplification
The current environment for University financial transactions and processing is complex. It is highly devolved with diverse processes and systems and low levels of automation. Inconsistent internal controls and the inability to leverage better supplier agreements and technology improvements also contribute to inefficiencies and a high cost administration.
In 2014, the University agreed to move to a Financial Shared Services model. This will see the centralisation of financial transactions processing which will enable standardisation and refinement of processes to improve effectiveness across the ANU and allow Colleges and Schools to focus on client facing activity.
The Finance and Business Services team is currently undertaking a review of financial operations and process mapping in Colleges will commence in February.
