Launch of a new Costing, Pricing and Approval Tool
The new ANU Costing and Pricing of Externally Funded Research Projects, University Consultancies and Commercial Services policy and procedure will come into effect on 1 April 2015. To support the policy a Costing, Pricing and Approval tool has been designed for researchers and research support staff. The tool will be available immediately after Easter. It performs three functions:
- supports the application of the relevant indirect cost calculation for Category 2, Category 3 and consultancy project activities;
- incorporates workflow for the approval of such activity; and
- replaces the Authority to Apply and the Authority to Accept process.
The tool provides a clear and simple system for effective costing of both direct and indirect costs of research and non-research projects to potential funds providers. It has been designed, taking into account extensive consultations across the ANU, while at the same time providing transparency and consistency to costing projects across the University. The tool will be refined over the next two months. For those in decision making roles, you will receive a direct email providing further information.
If you have projects already in process these may follow the paper based Authority to Apply and Authority to Accept processes until 31 May 2015 when the electronic system will come into full operation.
