SCU3 Experimental Design and Analysis
This is an online course offered by the SCU. In this course, we cover the following content:
Terminology and the principles of experimental design
- Basic terminology
- Practical issues in design
- Principles of experimental design
Four commonly used designs included in this course:
- Completely randomised design with only one treatment factor: treatment factor is randomly allocated to all experimental units.
- How to design the experiment
- How to analyse the data
- Completely randomised design with more than one treatment factor (factorial design)
- How to design the experiment
- How to analyse the data
- Randomised complete block design: the experimental units can be grouped into blocks of similar units.
- Introduction to "blocks"
- Randomised complete block design with one treatment factor
- Randomised complete block design with more than one treatment factor
Split-plot design: one treatment factor is applied to large plots and another treatment factor is applied to subplots within the large plots.
- Split-plot design with two levels
- Split-plot design with more than two levels
