67. First aid
67.1. A first aid officer refers to a suitably qualified staff member who is designated to administer first aid including mental health first aid in the workplace.
67.2. A first aid officer will be paid the relevant allowance specified in schedule 4.7 (First aid allowance).
67.3. To be eligible for payment of the relevant allowance, a first aid officer must hold a current:
- certificate of first aid competency or be a registered health professional such as a medical practitioner or a nurse; and
- accreditation in mental health first aid or be a registered health professional with expertise in mental health.
67.4. The provision of first aid services at the University will be governed in accordance with the relevant University procedures.
