HR Systems updates
HORUS enhancement - Reporting line update
The supervisor update enhancement in manager self-service is now available. This will allow managers to submit a request to update a supervisor for their team, which will then be approved by the delegate and update HRMS. The intention is this should replace most changes needing to be actioned by HR and R&C teams, and reduce the workload of teams while providing another self-service option for staff.
For a detailed guide on the process please click here.
This quick guide is to guide supervisors through the steps of requesting a change of reporting line for staff member(s) reporting to them. The supervisor change request in HORUS can only be completed by: - current supervisor - current supervisor’s reporting line chain When the request is submitted, an approval workflow will be triggered, and the request will go to the selected delegate for approval. Upon approval, relevant position and job records will be updated in HRMS.
HRMS & HORUS Upgrade - September 2024
The University’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS), PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), has been updated to the latest version PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) image, PUM 49.
PUM 49 will update the underlying toolset, infrastructure and functionality in HRMS. This will enable ANU to turn on new features, as required, and ensure that we are meeting our security requirements.
Please contact the HR Systems support team if you have any questions.
HORUS enhancement - Resignations
This new functionality will replace the current paper/ email based system for resignations and enable employees to initiate their resignation through Employee Self Service (ESS) in HORUS. This functionality is only for voluntary and mutually agreed resignations and not for other types of separations from the University.
Features:
- Staff can submit resignations effective from the current or a future date. The functionality will not allow employees to submit a resignation with a date in the past.
- Once the request is submitted, the workflow will go to the reporting manager for approval. If the reporting manager position is vacant, it will escalate to the next level supervisor. If there is a proxy in place, the request will be routed to the proxy.
- The manager will be notified via email that there is a resignation request awaiting their approval. The last working date of the staff member will be included in the email content.
- Once the resignation request has been approved by the manager, the employee, the local HR team and the remuneration and conditions team will receive an email notifying them of this resignation.
- Upon approval of a resignation, HRMS data for the employee will be updated and the termination row effective date will reflect the date of the last working day.
- Casual staff can also access this feature.
Please find a guide on the new process here.
HORUS enhancement - Cancelling leave
Leave requests that have been approved may be cancelled via HORUS. This includes future dated leave and leave up to 3 months in the past.
Please find a guide on the process here.
University Directory
The internal staff directory is available on HORUS.
Please navigate to the Employee Self Service section and select the “University Staff Directory” tile.
The purpose of the internal Horus University Staff Directory is to support data integrity efforts and to support the operational function of our teams. The Horus University Staff Directory includes full-time and part-time staff at ANU.
The HORUS University Staff Directory is the source of truth of staff data in our HR Systems. We have made significant strides in cleansing the data within our core people system, and this next phase of the project is to now visualise our structures. This will bring greater clarity to positions in our structures and assist with identifying position numbers for any required recruitment activity.
