Freedom of Information for staff
As an ANU employee the information you generate whilst performing your duties is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth). This means any member of the general public has the right to request access to information held by ANU. A request for access does not necessarily mean access to the information will be granted. The Act has a number of exemptions that may be claimed to prevent access to information for a number of reasons ranging from breach of confidence to incomplete research.
It is possible at some stage during your employment you will be required to assist the FOI officers in preparing a response to an FOI application.
